The newest edition to the Henderson area, The Audubon Wetlands Trail winds its way through a young forest and wetland area.

Once privately owned, the 649-acre wetlands was purchased at auction for 1.75 million by local residents, Robbie Williams, Scott Keach, Houston Keach, Will Esche, Tom Dempewolf and Tommy Dempewolf.

The area was displayed to the public in a small ceremony as future construction continues. Curently, the area consists of packed gravel and a long boardwalk that crosses a wetland area, leading into a small forested trail system.

There are currently about a mile of trails with plans up to 5 miles as the work continues
