Trail Overview

Located on Evansville’s west side, the USI–Burdette Park Trail connects the University of Southern Indiana and Burdette Park. The three-mile paved route travels through rolling Southern Indiana terrain.

Created through a partnership between USI and Burdette Park, the trail offers a route for hikers, cyclists, and runners between the university campus and the Burdette Park Discovery Center.

The Trail Experience

Length: Approximately 3 miles one-way (about 6 miles round-trip)

hills with gentle grades (averaging 3% and maxing out around 5%)

Designations: Designated as a National Recreation Trail by the Secretary of the Interior
and a destination point on the American Discovery Trail

Hours: Open daily year-round from 7:00 a.m. until dusk
